Go to seller school:

https://sellerschool.ebay.com/

This is the best option for you as a future seller.  You can learn a lot and hopefully avoid making the mistakes that other new sellers have made when they first start out.  Bottom line result...permanent suspension.

Don't drop ship plastic garbage from China.  They will rip you off and they are the only ones who make money.

Please don't sell plant or coconut items.  The US and many other countries have plenty of coconuts and coconut products.  Its is also a violation per customs, not to mention ebay.

Please sell your items at a buy it now price.  Avoid auctions and best offer options.  You're a new seller.  Fixed price with immediate payment required checked off is the way to go.  It will also help you to increase your feedback.

Look at your competition and see whats out there and what you have to compete with.  A business course is advisable.

Hopefully I've given you some helpful tips and insight.    Good luck.

People don't usually stumble on a listing by accident. They're there because  they're  looking for that item. What sells it will be your price, pictures and a detained description of the item. You should take pictures like there's no description and describe it as if there's no pictures.

How I started out was listing a few unwanted personal and household items. Low cost stuff I would've donated. I didn't  want to make typical  newbie  mistakes with expensive items.  I wasn't trying to figure out what the hottest item was. Until I found what niche I wanted to sell in I did quite well just getting rid of items I no longer needed or wanted.so

You might try that.

All new sellers need to research everything they can about ALL area’s of eBay not just Selling

.

It is not just a matter of list, sell, send - you need to learn what to do when a customer wants to return an item, (and if the seller is drop shipping this can be a headache) and what to do if a customer claims an item is not received - again a drop shippers nightmare. Research shipping costs for off shore buyers. Do a search of eBay and see what is selling well and make sure you can match the quality and prices.

I have a read a number of posts where the new seller has no idea and is getting hit with negative feedback and unresolved cases being handled by eBay (which dings a sellers account) because they do not know the processes to avoid this.

Be well informed of the shipping carriers and their options available to you. You will likely find one or two methods that are best and use those most of the time, but it's good to know backups or alternatives if the need comes up. Always know your shipping rates and fees before you list so that those costs are passed on to your buyer - you can't change them after a sale. Weigh and measure packages beforehand so there are no surprises. And always eat a healthy breakfast (🥓). Good luck~

Do you know what $3 is equal to in Sri Lanka currency? Most people in Sri Lanka would be thrilled to make $3 USD an hour.  That's  a whole lotta rupees.  The average factory worker in Columbo makes 72,600 LkR a month. That would be $201.67 or just over $50 a week! I daresay they'd be thrilled to make $2 an hour, let alone $3.
