I Cancelled a sale per the Buyer's request. I went to the Cancellation page to process it and the ONLY choice to complete it was to Relist the item for Free ... NOT good since it was an Auction and I want them to end at specific times so I need to control WHEN the item gets relisted.
Since I had no choice I clicked the button ... and was rewarded with eBay sending me TWO cancellation notices and Relisted the item TWICE creating a Duplicate listing .... see the pics, its all right there ... so I Ended BOTH listings but SERIOUSLY EBAY?!?
So now I have to keep an eye on the refund to make sure eBay doesn't nick me for TWO cancellation amounts ...
This programming is so horribly bad its not even funny ... and of course I had the pleasure of all the 10-15 second page load delays (which I NEVER GET ON ANY OTHER SITE- ONLY EBAY - THE OTHER PIC BELOW)

eBay seems particularly glitchy today. Shipping labels a mess. Offers/counters a mess.
In other words, SNAFU.

...makes ya want the classic all selling page back doesn't it...
😁
Notice that they blocked all the workarounds...

Thanks for sharing this, as always. I learn so much from your posts (albeit lately, what NOT to try to do with Seller Hub...lol)
Noticed yesterday they changed the "circles" next to the "active listings" and it is almost impossible to click into that without evoking the drop down menu. Gave up. Some days you just want to "click" the box!

Not blocked - the code is gone. It takes a while between the old code being superseded by the new code in the codebase, and being removed.
Auto relisting in the seller hub has always been a setting, but if the site is going through one of its borked up periods today, maybe it's not. 😒

The should just add the few things that they wanted to add to the classic view. They knew how upset people got last time around.

If that happens again, please screenshot that screen. I have cancelled sales at buyer request, and while the relist box comes up pre-checked, there's nothing to stop me from un-checking the box before continuing, and I can then relist (or not) as I see fit.
Is it at all possible that there is something in the eBay code that does not agree with Firefox? I use Chrome, and have not encountered those symptoms when going through the same process you are describing here.

@a_c_green I will because what you described is EXACTLY how it worked the last time, I had a check box if I wanted to immediately Relist or wait ... today it was just an elongated button with Relist for Free in in and NO other choices ... maybe they should have labeled it "Duplicate listing violation button"

eBay's IT Department Manager is working on the problem ...

I think you are right. I was logged into the boards last week with Firefox and had posted to someone, what happened to the emoji's and bold, etc - they replied, it's all right here.....
Sure enough, logged out of Firefox and it was indeed, all here. I have just been using edge.

I think, it's the buyer who has to cancel it.

It sounds like someone may be messing around with new code. eBay has a horrible habit of dumping code into Production without proper testing.
What you might have encountered is a dead-end page, where there could be an option presented (that Relist button) but no other action, so that if the user doesn't want to click that button, their only choice is to either back out of the page or select a bookmark for another destination. The cancellation you wanted might have occurred when you acted on the previous page, and that odd page was the followup.
I have come across one or two other dead-end pages on the eBay site, although I cannot think of an example at this moment.

@a_c_green Yes, you are probably right ... they've been continuing to make their changes and I suspect more Whac-o-mole glitches will keep cropping up and getting pounded down ... its just a shame that they have complicated the entire process with extra steps, less than friendly pages and slower page loading. I seem to recall one of the eBay Support Team members stating they made some changes to speed up the page loading (so yeh, THEY know its an issue) ... well, the slowest page for me has always been the See all orders page, it use to take 40 to 45 seconds to load and I would ALWAYS get that error banner across the top ... since their changes now it only takes 25 to 30 seconds for that page to load, most other pages are in the 10-15 second range (Active list, sorting any column, going to the next page of 200 listings, etc.).
Here's the thing, they've suggested different browsers BUT I never had those issues with the Classic pages or any other web site I use or visit NOR any of the programs I run on my system ... Seller Hub is THE ONLY one that loads slow, PERIOD. So the issue is clearly their programming, not my or anyone else's system.
It just takes sl long to do anything it really isn't fun ... and my wonderful loving wife of over 35 years used some colorful expletives when she got shoved out of the Classic pages ... lots of "bleeps" in her comments that's for sure. Friends I mentor have pretty much parroted our complaints as well ...

Thank you very much for your posts pointing out the (apparently never ending) Seller Hub bugs and poor design.
Your posts re-enforce my decision to resist switching to the SH until the bitter end. The types of hassles you describe are problems I don't want to face.
