I'm not new to ebay but new to selling. I recently sold a Nintendo Switch and received a notification that the buyer paid but I see nothing in my paypal account. Having seen that the buyer paid, I shipped the Switch out to the buyer quickly. Having received the purchase he now does not want the item and wants to return it. I do not accept returns on new items b/c chances are the buyer will open the product and hurt the value of the item.

So 2 questions:

1. Where is my money? I see in my ebay account that it's there but nothing in my paypal account. Not even a pending notification. I checked me email and it looks correct and whenever I purchase on ebay I never have a problem.

2. Should I offer a refund? I want to make sure that I have that money to refund but I also described the product in detail, took actual photographs, and had a no returns notification on the posting.

Really just need some help b/c I feel like I'm in a tight spot. Furloughed and hurting for money but didn't want to add all this additional stress.

Never rely on eBay for information about PayPal payments. That is what PayPal is for. If you want information about what payments have been made to your PayPal account, go to PayPal directly.

One possibility is that you were never paid to begin with. When you say you "received a notification", how *exactly* did you receive notification? A well-known scam is for buyers to send a forged PayPal email to trick a seller into thinking he was paid when he was not.

Another possibility is that you mis-typed the PayPal email address in your listing, and the buyer's payment did not go to your PayPal account and is waiting to be claimed at the incorrect email address.

I never received a notification from PayPal that the money was sent. My question is why would they want a return if they already screwed me? Are they trying to get paid now with the return amount even though they never paid? Does ebay back non-payments? I've checked my email and it's correct and as I've never had an issue with paying others. I really just feel stuck and I'm not sure what to do. It was a good chunk of money.

Check paypal. If the money isnt there then accept the return. When you get the return...... Be happy you got your item back. There is nothing to refund if you never got paid.
