Hi Guys,
Attempting to find answer on PayPal but keep getting suggestion.' Fill in the form and post the item'.
I want to sell an item on Ebay, however the site won't allow me to post the ad unless I tick the box (Payment through PpayPal) I don't want to be the victim of a refund/payback scam from someone who says that the item is not as described and lose my payment -and possibly the item. I want the buyer to collect in person, view, make payment in cash or bank transfer. If transfer I want the money in my bank before letting the item go.
I believe that there is no Seller Protection from Ebay or Paypal if item collected and paid forthrough Paypal. Apart from that, I cannot upload my advert unless I tick the PayPal box. Any suggestions/info much appreciated,Weka 55.

You have to tick the Paypal box.

@weka55, you're registered in the UK, so here is the accepted payments policy on eBay UK:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/help/policies/payment-policies/accepted-payments-policy?id=4269
"In some categories PayPal is the only payment method accepted. This will be advised during listing."
This forum is on eBay USA. For the next time, you would be better to ask questions like this on the eBay UK forum, because sometimes the rules are different, as for this question.

You would be correct. You may make a statement in your post "contact me for payment options for pick up" or something of the sort. eBay will not let a listing go live without an approved 'reversible by the buyer' payment method.
