I thought it was a fluke.

So I searched for a few.

Ebay is definitely being favored.

Who's responsible for that, I wonder?

Maybe the seemingly inflated views that some of us are seeing aren't Bots Gone Wild.

Maybe it's Google bringing views.

Wow... interesting.  A search of Vintage Radio Flyer Red Wagon actually brought Ebay up in 4th position ahead of Etsy.  The results still included new and used but they were all accurate results - no mix of unrelated Chinese stuff etc mixed in.

Is the world about to end???

We may be getting more people looking for our stuff but can they find what they want?  I did a search this morning for postcard- transportation- ship. there were about 24,000 for sale so I scrolled down the top 192 . Of that number 26 were not postcards, almost a 1/4 of 24,000 is a lot of mistakes ( by ebay)

Not to long ago I contacted a seller who had something very erotic in the postcard section  and he was shocked that it showed up there as that was not where he put it. Like a good seller he took it down ( I'm sure he relisted it hoping it went to the right category And its all over the site - I have a hard time looking for anything without the wrong stuff showing up. anymore I go to AM to do my shopping and then when I find what I want I come back here to compare priceing . How many casual shoppers do that ?

Are you talking about a Google search? Or an ebay search?

I didn't see amazon or etsy at all in the few I searched.

I always do. I get the info on amazon, but buy from ebay.

To be honest, having sold on this site, I really prefer not to buy here if there's the slightest chance I'll need to return something. Not every detail of an item can be worked out over the web, and I'd much rather exercise Amazon's return process than jerk around someone who isn't a huge corporation. They have the overhead for it, we don't.

If I buy something that turns out to be junk, and these days that does happen from time to time, I'll have to play some kind of awkward game with the seller, both of us knowing I hold the trump card. And PayPal holds the money hostage in the meantime. Even if the product is exactly as described, it may not turn out to be fit for purpose, or the quality of manufacture not what I was expecting.

If I buy it from Amazon, I already know they offer a no-questions-asked satisfaction guarantee on anything, even if I just changed my mind; and the money is instantly refunded back to my credit card. So if it costs me a dollar or two more to buy from them, it's well worth the money. I see that eBay is already headed in that direction, but that's part of the problem with this site IMO.

On top of all that, because I was curious, I went over all of my 2017 purchases on Amazon and none of them (including shipping) were available at a better price here, except for one item that was $29 instead of $31.
