I have 36 Catlin Indian prints listed. On desktop when i search "Catlin Indian" the search returns 763 items, when i then select lowest price drop down it narrows it down to 160 but only 9 of my 36 show up. On ebay app on phone when doing the same search its returns 674, when selecting lowest price it narrows it down do 40 and only shows 6 of my items. Why is this? even when my prices were the lowest (just raised the price) it still showed the same amount.

This is how ebay manipulates searches and the low to high filter is the worse. Not fair to sellers, frustrating to buyers and nothing you can do about it, but complain to ebay using the Tell-Us-What-You-Think option at the top of the page.

Because Ebay has determined that buyers do not want to see that many items, especially lowest first. Buyers click that for a reason because they only want to see the actual lowest ones. Ebay gives buyers a choice. If they do want to see more items they can click the link that says to see more items.

The "See more items" is now no longer an option anymore on many searches.

This has been going on for some time now. Some major eBay coding problems (or intentional actions) someplace.
I often look at "sold" items to review the selling prices for items that I may consider sourcing to sell.
"Highest to lowest " I might see 2000, or more. OK, I don't deal in the "high end" of the price range when I sell.
Switch over to "lowest to highest". Gee, there are now 60 items sold without the little message saying that they have limited the # of item shown, with a spot to click to see more results.
It's a total pain having to go back to "highest to lowest" and work my way backwards from the far end.

See More is still there. Most buyers don't know it though. It's not obvious UNLESS you already know where to
look.
Only shows up on certain filters though (low to high) is where I see it.
I also think there are other factors that limit your results.
Items in the wrong category, or rather....a category ebay thinks is wrong (won't show many results even if the search words match in title, description, item specifics).
I also think there's something to what the photo looks like. If you use the same background and take pics of 30 similar(ish) items, and make 30 listings? Something about it thinks it's too much the same "from the photo's" and doesn't show all of them.
Just a theory, but it does seem to act like AI trying to decide it knows more about what the searcher wants, than the searcher.

Even when mine were the lowest it only showed 6 of them

Yes it does. You have to read the link Ebay gives you. First click the link that says "search your original query". It does that because your search is too vague. After that it says we've streamlined your result and gives a link to "see more results".

It's been my observation that when I do multiple Searches with the same words that I start to see different items each time.
With millions of items available, this makes sense to me.
The algorithm seems to be programmed to drop some of the "rejected" items, which you did not View or even open, in favour of others.
If you do View one or two, but don't purchase the algorithm chooses other items that are like the ones you showed more interest in by Viewing.
The Search is not set up for sellers but for buyers.
