I was trying to find the items I was researching yesterday, as I was going to list the same item. When I search for them this morning, they appear at the top of search for a split second, then VANISH!
I was also trying to find one of my own items to end the listing, which I finally successfully did, and when I search the item in completed items, my item shows as the first result for a split second, and once again, then VANISHES!
Chrome and Firefox are doing it. I just tried on Microsoft Edge, and it is not having that problem. I tried the app on my phone, and it is not doing it to me on there either.
I have cleared cache, cookies, done an AVG TuneUp, shut down PC, etc. Nothing has worked. Is anyone else having this issue?
I captured the action on video, and attached.

Are you using an ad blocker? If so, try temporarily disabling it to see if that makes a difference.
I have run into similar situations when an ad blocker was removing sponsored listings from search results.
If disabling your ad blocker allows the results to load correctly, then there may be settings you can change to allow you to still block ads without blocking search results. If you are using Ad Block (not Ad Block Plus), try disabling "Anti-Circumvention Filters". If you are using Ad Block Plus, try disabling "ABP Filters" in your filter list.

I have seen similar occurrences using Ebay's search for a few years now where the initial search result displays for a fraction of a second and then vanishes. It is well beyond my pay grade to explain this. I suspect, with no evidence to back it up, that perhaps it either results from Ebay recalibrating the results to favor promoted items or is a response to my ad blocker. Just another ghost in the machine.

I disabled Ad Block Plus alltogether for eBay, and that did the trick. Thank you!
What is mind boggling is that I have never noticed that ever being an issue, and I've been using ABP for years. AND, my listing was not sponsored, promoted, etc. As well as other listings not mine that were vanishing.

It may not have been an issue until very recently.
eBay and ad blockers are apparently in a constant battle over whether sponsored listings constitute ads or not. As each ad blocker incorporates a new rule to block various new ads and filter lists are updated, eBay changes how sponsored listings work to evade the blocks. Every once in a while a new blocking rule can misfire or eBay can make an unexpected change and that can cause even non-sponsored listings to be blocked by the ad blocker.
