Scanner for scanning tokens and coins

Does anyone use a scanner for coins and tokens and if so which one?

I was using an HP Scanjet 4850 but it just went caput after about 10 years of service.

I have one Cannon and 2 Epson, none of which work worth a hoot for various reasons.

Any suggestions for a scanner would be greatly appreciated and please not using a camera.

When I've tried to scan any coins that were AU or better, I've never been able to get the color right. I'm under the impression that the fantastic pics I see on ebay are taken with cameras using Micro settings.

Never tried it, Probably wouldn't have the patience.

I use a light diffuser made especially for camera phones. Let's me get in super tight for crisp clear close-ups on jewelery, watches, coins and anything smaller.

Mine cost about $125...you could probably find one cheaper...I'd never be without mine again tho

Not sure how much you plan on listing but I used a Magnisight  Video Enlarger to take pictures and video for anything smaller then a book. Its perfect for coins because you can zoom in on the tiniest detail and just do a screen capture directly to your computer. You can pick up the old ones for like $50 plus shipping and they come will quality lights built right it. Its basically an all in one high res photo booth. Sure it takes up about as much room as a small copier but they work great.

I scan cards but many of them are extremely thick and this works well for it.  Its an  HP officejet Pro L7650 All In One.  I picked it up a few years back for $350 and it is not only a great scanner but also printer, fax, copier and will print photos.   I get excellent scans of my items as well as the ink is cheap for printing purposes (Ebay invoices, shipping labels, etc).
