Scammers

Be careful with someone offering to pay you twice as much as your posted sale price. There are scammers on eBay offering 2x, then they ask you to ship to another person in need with a gift card that you need to purchase. All you need to do is give them your bank account number so they can deposit the gift card money.

Identify these people - They don't have any ratings - They just opened the eBay account number .

Tried to steal my bank account.

Just idle curiosity:  When eBay sends you a warning not to offend someone, how is it worded?

I'm pretty sure what's being referred to was actually a Khoros warning about naming-and-shaming, judging from the editing seen in the Oriiginal Post.

Actually no, they would try to steal the gift card codes and then drain the card on-line. Talking about the bank account number was a useful dodge, but the reality is that your bank account number is on the bottom of every check you ever wrote, and simply knowing the account number does not give someone the license or ability to steal your account.

It was the gift card numbers that they really wanted, after which you would never be reimbursed and never hear from the scammer again.

I've had a couple or six in the past.  It's been so long ago I can't remember the exact wording, but the gist of them was that I was "creating a hostile environment."  And that quote is the exact wording.
