So far I have had a very bad experience with selling items on Ebay. Two people have "bought" items from me and have tried to steal my information by sending me a message telling me that they want me to text them before they pay. It is crazy and stupid you have to wait 4 days before you're able to cancel an order for non-payment when you know for a fact they aren't going to pay. Ebay should not allow 4 days for a buyer to complete their purchase.

As soon as I posted this another dang person did the same thing.

As you've learned, it's quite a common scam--especially for new (zero feedback) sellers.
Remove all "best offer" options from your listings and double check to confirm you've listed everything with "immediate payment required." Problem solved.

If you get rid of "best offer" customer will be forced to make immediate purchase. Best offer is not necessary because real customers are not shy about contacting you about a better deal.

Yes... it is quite the problem for new sellers.
For what it's worth... eBay has begun to 'pre-qualify' a batch of users by making them provide a payment method before bidding. With that being said, since then it seems a bit safer that you'll get payers on offers. Even if your users are these users, it's still the only way to operate by not texting them. Stand pat.

Maybe do a little buying on your ID, so the FB does not show a big ZERO.
As others shared. Remove Best Offer and in addition, make sure you have Buyer Blocks in place.
BBL those who do not pay and be sure to let the non-payment process work thru so they get a strike vs you cancelling.
Good luck!

I was aware of the pilot process requiring some buyers to provide a payment method before submitting a "best offer," and the 2022 Winter Seller Update announced the future expansion into counteroffers and seller-initiated offers, but I hadn't heard eBay was beta testing any similar approach for auctions bidders yet.
I'd be interested in reading about it if you have a link to share.

Thank you! Big ol' typo... I used the word "bidding" when I should have typed "making an offer". (The OP had BINs, but accepted offers on the two sales in question.) You are correct... this has not been set for Auctions. My bad.

Thank y'all for the feedback. I went and changed all of my listings and got rid of the Best Offer option.
