Scammers

I was lured off site by a scammer , i have never sold anything before on Ebay and they caught me lucky for me I started becoming suspect when they started sending me emails from PayPal , at first i didnt see anything wrong but they said PayPal was holding my money until I supplied them with a tracking number to confirm it was posted.

Then the PayPal emails started to get suspect , every now and then I detected poor English , and the emails became more demanding and the last one was threatening legal action , so I contacted PayPal and to my surprise PayPal had no records of any emails being sent and advised that I halt all action with this person.

Be careful !

I tried to report this to Ebay but its impossible to contact them via email to report a user unless a buy and sell had taken place, I found this very frustrating.

Ebay needs to have a report a user button for serious breaches.

@dennigibb0

If you received any direct emails from this "buyer" you can forward them to spoof@ebay.com.

It was fake PayPal emails and yes I sent them on to Spoof@Paypal.

These fake emails were 100% real looking , I have been around the dark places on the internet and I can tell you these fake emails were pro.

The only thing that got me suspect was one or two words without an s on the end when it should have had one , things like that and the word spoof in the headers.

I want to know how they got my real full name , cause my full name was on the fake email.

I also became suspect when I looked at the email and saw the words spoof in the email headers.

This is why you stay on site. You'll be lucky if eBay doesn't charge you fees because you went off site

Yes, but if any communication about the item was on eBay, eBay, eBay can, and has charged sellers fvf on the off site sale. Better brush up on policy

I hope for your sake you did not click on a link in any of the emails for you to sign in with? if you did then you better change your password in the actual PayPal site.

That's what makes hard to detect, most of paypal emails are in poor English.

Never, ever believe an email when it comes to payment.

ALWAYS log in to Paypal directly, not from an email link.  Any payments made will show there regardless if they are held or not.

The easier you are to offend the easier you are to control.

Yes, they are professional criminals, and very busy. They may have gotten your name and other information from your emails or responses to them?

This is not a "breach", and there is nothing eBay or PayPal can do to stop someone from sending you phishing emails.

If you received an email saying that someone had deposited money in your bank account, would you just believe them without verification? Or would you check with your bank for a transaction and look at your balance?

PayPal is no different. If you receive an email saying that someone has deposited money in your PayPal account, do not just believe them without verification. Check with PayPal for a transaction and look at your balance.

It's really just common sense when you think about it.
