My accountant is asking for a list of all sales within my state.
I switched over to MP in March (i think).
I know how to get this info from paypal ... but how do i get this info from MP?

Greetings, inhawaii,
I don't right offhand know how to get it from MP, but I use my automatic online bookkeeping service to break down sales by state.
I also print out a hard copy of every sale right after I ship an item. I find it under my paid and shipped orders drop down menu and select "view order details". Then it's pretty easy to go thru and look for my state's sales, which I have done in the past when I needed to file my Idaho State sales tax return each year.
Cheers, Duffy

@inhawaii - I'll start by saying I know eBay has been phasing in different aspects of Managed Payments, so you may or may not see the same thing I do, but hopefully this will help.
If you go to the Payments section and click on Reports on the left side navigation, you can create a transaction report set for a customer date range covering up to a year at a time, so just set it from whenever you started MP to date. You can also check or uncheck any of the boxes here to determine which kinds of transactions you want in the report.
Most of the columns may not be applicable, but depending on what your accountant needs you or they should be able to open it in Excel or other spreadsheet program and sort/filter the report by buyer's state to see just the ones you need. I'm guessing the gross transaction amount may be what they are looking for, but this report will also show fees and sales tax as well if need they need that.
I squished some of the columns just to make it easier to take the screenshot, but play around with that report and I think it will have what you need.

I would be curious to know why your accountant is asking for this information. The thing I always found strange about the sales tax on the items sold on eBay is it is based on the state in which the buyer resides not the state where the seller is located. Totally opposite of every other type of business operated within a state where the tax is based on the location of the seller. It doesn't matter which state I live in when I buy gas out of state I am paying for the taxes on the gas where the station is located.
I have been waiting for some state, and I am sure there will be one shortly, to realize how much sales tax revenue they are loosing on items being sold out of their state for which they are collecting no sales tax. That could pose an interesting situation where both the seller and the buyer are paying sales tax. Give it time it will happen.

Best option is you can chat with them they will send you a link direct to that option.

Sales Tax is applied at the location of the transaction. For traditional retail that means wherever the store is located. For a sales that is shipped/delivered it is the location where the ultimate buyer (who is the one paying the tax), for an remote sales like eBay the transaction is deemed to take place where the buyer takes possession.
In all States (with sales/use tax) exports outside of the home State of the seller are tax exempt in the Sellers State. Buyers who purchase from out of state have always had an obligation to report and pay tax their home State but compliance has been extremely low. In the past this was a minor issue but with the massive increase in cross border commerce States could no longer afford to lose that revenue.

I disagree - the example you gave is *exactly* the same as an eBay sale.
When you buy on eBay and have the item delivered to your home state, the sales tax is based on the state where the product was delivered.
When you buy gas at a gas station in another state, the sales tax is also based on the state where the product was delivered.
Sales tax has nothing to do with where you live. It has to do with where the product is delivered.
