Has anyone noticed a drastic drop in sales in August of 2018?

For me, it goes in cycles.  Most of the time, the main part of the cycles are negative.  Not ong ago, I went 3 days with 1 sale then, had 6 in 1 day.  The next 2 days - zero.  I have to take it 1 day at a time & it is VERY disappointing.  I feel like you need to have 5,000 listings just to get 10 sales within 24 hours.  I"m sure that would still make it in the negative $ after fees!  I have well over 500 listings & have 3 sales within this new week (starting Sunday).  1 today.  I thought making, at least, $50-75 a day would be easy.  eBay is not my only source but, that still doesn't help much.  Just waiting for summer to end (along with the miserable heat) & see if there is ANY improvement.  Good luck to all.    🙂

Only because the new app changes have made listing so freaking time consuming, I have not been listing as much as usual. Just need to figure out a shortcut since every stupid newbie mistake box now comes prechecked. Other than that, no complaints, the same percentage of whats listed is selling.

Sales Slump

As another poster said, people have been coming in here for the last 5 years and ask about the sudden drop in sales.   I finally realized that , during a single month there will be ebbs and flows. Some dead periods 2-4 days, but then i'll have a great week.   It always seems to by the end of the month kinda sorta work..

however.. this past two weeks.. since aug 23.. my sales have tanked.. for the last two weeks i'm down 75% from the two weeks before that. I know that ebay supposedly had some new search engine that was going to be rolled out. And of course, every time ebay rolls out one of it's "updates" it penalizes all sellers who have finally figured out how to create listings that ebays search engine can find.   It's almost like a bad joke.. as soon as we learn all the new rules for titles, and update all of the new item specifics that ebay places in categories(without telling anyone) .. without fail,, ebay will "update" or roll out a "new improved" shopping experience.  It's ridiculous.

I guarantee you, the same way sellers learn how to work within ebay's system and make listings that appeal to ebays search engine.  Regular Buyers learn how to navigate ebay's search and eventually learn how to find what they are looking for . Every single time ebay changes the search specifics and options available, more and more long time buyers throw up their hands and head over to amazon.  For items not available on amazon. Buyer resort to searching craigslist, offerup, poshmark, and facebook.
