Sales November 2019

Is it just me or other's are also feeling the pinch? In the 14+ years I have been on ebay, I have never experienced a 50% drop in sales from last month October. Is something going on with ebay? Spoken with ebay, no holds or anything to hinder the sales, so honestly I don't know. Any suggestions.

You are not alone. It's just not the same anymore. I have been here since 2003. I know there will be responses that I am not checking my inventory for competative pricing , not listing relevant items ... yada , yada, yada. If that was true I would not be selling through the roof on the "artsy" site.  I have most of my inventory that does not qualify as " artsy"or vintage , on 1 cent auction ending on cyber Monday beacuse I am fed up. It is not fun anymore. eBay's site doesnt work anymore. If I am shpping for myself, on ebay, I get shunted to Wafare and other selling platforms- who I do buy from because I can nolonger locate the items I am looking for through ebay search. Occasionally I can get to an item on eBay through google search but never directly on the eBay site. I am sure my potentional customers are having the same trouble. So I am liquidating, donating, and going to selling at craft fairs and fleamarkets.   eBay is nolonger fun, nolonger profitable, and nolonger cares about small sellers.

Sales November 2019

We've had a lot of glitches this year and past glitches haven't been fixed. There have been problems with buyers being able to pay for their purchases or being told that the seller will not sell to their country - even when both reside in the US. As someone stated search has gotten worse - especially with the implementation of the new Item specific categories'

Sales are down 40% from last year and many of the sales are only because I've drastically dropped prices. Thank goodness the slack is being picked up by sales on other venues. But I agree with the 2nd poster - many will say it's your inventory, prices ect.. Ignore them - most sellers - especially those who have been here a long time are still here because they have been successful and have been able to adapt to all the changes.

Hoping this weekend sees an increase of sales for everyone. I've already had a couple here so I'm going to stay positive that Ebay will have a lot of shoppers. May all our items be seen and buyers able to pay for them. Good luck everyone!

November is 1 of my worst months.  However, that doesn't mean the entire year wasn't an eBay failure.  8-10 really good sales days.  The rest are $0-30/40 avg.  Last week was barely above $100.  $44 after 4 days this week.  Pathetic!  Fees are coming due - guess I'll be in the hole.  Thanks, eBay!  Of course, the board room is getting their $$$.  Especially from their take of the shipping - 10%.  A complete rip off for sellers.  2019 is my final year as a "steady seller" here.  Tired of the constant disappointment.  Good luck to us all.    🙂

@fortheprincessinme   No need to talk to eBay ... they are not going to admit they made a big mistake on the GTC mandate in march of this year nor are they going to tell you that Managed Payments is not producing the sales growth they anticipated ... they will also decline to tell you that their search algorithm regurgitates poor results on a regular basis.  But what they WILL tell you is it's a sunny day in California ...
