Our stores sales have fallen 50% since the new ebay seller updates. Is anyone else still having this problem?

Many sellers are complaining about lower sales - but I've checked across the boards and depending what you sell - people are complaining it's just as slow elsewhere.
I started moving some things to other sites - but I check each one to see how much competition I have before I list it there - why do the work if it's going to sit over there just as it's sitting here. I just hoed out items that have sat for years - total investment was small TG - but Amvets will be happy when they arrive on Fri!
Every so often - sellers hve to sit back and evaluate what they are selling - just because it sold last year doesn't mean that market values and product desirability hasn't changed.

retail sales nationwide have been declining 3 months in a row.

no one know why?
unemployment rate is down, wages are higher,no inflation?
pick any reason-
still paying off Xmas binge buying
higher rent and auto payment
saving for downpayment of a house
hurricane repair
higher insurance premium
tighter credit
rising interest rate
but for Ebay, there is this retail stores ramping up their ecommerce ,the Macy,WMT,Nordstrom,Home depot, lowe, fighting off AMZN.
Hard to compete if you are selling used goods when they can buy from these stores, brand new, free shipping and generous return policy.

@rivermanparts I've noticed a marked decrease in activity since the Seller Update along with a slower site both eBay and The Community. With all the changes coming I suspect they are messing with the computers and the programing. One ID here seems to be fine but two others are horrendous.
To give you an idea of the glitchy issues, I created a thread late last week on what I "thought" was a new Help Page format rollout (pic below). I did a screen shot and posted ... imagine my surprise when older members posted that the format was Pre-2008! SERIOUSLY???? Yes ... so how in the world does THAT happen? Well, maybe they have some old servers for back up and with all the changes they are making they shift accounts to them while they work on the newer ones ... so sales drop and decade old programming pops up ... how else does one explain this, hmmm?

Are your other venues exhibiting slow periods or do you only sell here? Just looking on the net - car sales have decreased - and there are a flood of leased cars they can't get rid of. You seem to sell a lot of BMW replacement items. While I love the car - this middle class blue collar family near retirement is happy with a Buick - the millenial and X gen in the family have a new Jeep Wrangler - Willys Edition and the other is looking at purchasing a new Charger with a scat pack. They are into sport rather than luxury.

Could it be a declne in the purchase of luxury vehicles. Or the purchase of second hand luxury vehicles?
I'm not sure with your type of business I'm afraid. It seems very straith forward.

My online income went down in 2017. I started noticing a fall-off in sales starting in May. When I research the problem I find that, yes, a year ago I just had more sales. My inventory is up compared to a year ago but sales are generally blah. Sales on Amazon are much better (I sell books) but also off.
My accountant asked me if I anticipate going back up again in 2018 and I had to say I have no reason to think I will. I have a limited space to store my inventory and if it full but slow-selling, there isn't much wiggle room left. What I really need is a way to predict what will sell and jettison the rest, but I lack that magic ball even on Amazon which has a ranking system based on how often a given book sells. I avoid books with too-high ranking, and I am glad to get some with very low ranking, but sales are unpredictable in the great middle area.

Could be Alot Of sellers are Leaving with all the new Up and coming Changes, Returns killing them, Warnings for silly reasons like trying to sell out side of ebay, NO Views, Or very little. SEE Sellers are Some of Our Buyers... My sales are a few a week, I do have 4 times more listed then normal. I just sale Items I no longer need and then Buy Right back on ebay, Things we may want or need( used Mostly).. I am doing More Buying then Selling! Could Be glitches as well, I have ran across a few this week, Pages not loading, Problems changing listings not holding, Crazy Numbers for views like 234567891/LOL.
I had noticed when Listing my items it takes days to get a view, Now thats new for me Not even Bot hits. Weird.

I can give you my reason why I dont want to buy anything on Ebay which I can buy from other sites ,sites which are professionally manned and take good pictures and sell what they know and what they deal in,be it vitamins,shoes/sneakers,clothese and home appliance and electronics.
I buy things on EBAY which I dont care and does not cost much, how do I know what looks brand new could be from someone attic, basement, storage, exposed to heat and radiation, dropped from height, kicked around, passed around ,resealed .
remmeber Easy Jack,I bought some from a seller who does not know what easy jack is,and why it does not work? All she knows is that she could sell them on Ebay.
so there is MBG and dispute bla bla bla,but time is also money,I dont spend my time looking for something just so I can open a INAD or chargeback and get my money back, what did I gain?
so I but mostly used dvd, inkcartridge, lens wiper, cheap stuff.
I just downgraded my Ebay store, once the items are gone,my Ebay career is over, and I have been with Ebay for over 20 years, more like 25 years.

Which updates?
My sales were off two years ago when eBayCanada went entirely to Canadian dollars.
Combined with a threatened lockout of postal workers by management, I was closed for renovations much of the summer.
Once I got my items relisted and refreshed on dotCOM (when I could use Flat Rate Shipping) and dotCA (when shipments needed parcel rates), I noticed a decline in US sales.
But that was offset by a rise in overseas sales. Domestic sales were stable.
I've also been making changes to make my listings more mobile friendly and March has been pretty strong so far. Toes crossed, because crossing fingers makes it hard to type.
