Sales Down Randomly

Hi Everyone!

I was reading over the various discussions about sales being down. We have 2500+ listings, been on ebay for 8+ years and are apart of all the ebay programs offered (guarenteed, global ship, free expedited shipping and top rated, etc.)

In the last 1-2 weeks our sales have dipped to 1/2 or 1/3 of what they were. No change on our end with listings or types of items, or policies. Ive read about the various hypothesis's about summer time and googles changes to ebay results in searches, and saw ebay removing listings from buyers search results. We price with the market on a per item basis and our account is in good standing. Even offer free return shipping.

We do sell on many other marketplaces, but eBay is sticking out as under performing based on the past history.

Wanted to check with you guys and see what any suggestions:

- things to check (places in the dashboard)

- things to change

- things to do

- things to watch

- etc.

Appreciate it. Happy to answer any questions to help provide context.

Thanks!

Sales Down Randomly

I just replied to the other Sales Down post on here, and so I don't spam the forum with repeat messages, it would be best if you check my response to that one.

For us, we tried changing everything, and following all the advice eBay had. Nothing helped.

The performance and performance/impressions pages gave us enough to suggest this is actually a bug.

But nothing has been done to resolve it, and it seems that when our issue got better, it started affecting other stores. So the issue still persists.

To be clear, this issue has been going on throughout all of 2018, just which sellers it affects depends on store.

And it's not something focused on just small sellers. We were #1 in our category for 4-5 years, and now we're suffering.

The market share for top 10 sellers has went down from 40-30% in one year - a 25% drop. Before anyone starts to blame it on the sellers... Even top sellers are not able to make it work on eBay anymore.

The single store who seen a benefit of more than aroudn 10% increase year to year, was a store that did NOT follow eBay's recommendations, and is not doing free returns/gd/etc. They are the only store who grew in our category, and they nearly doubled in profits year to year. Everyone else dropped.

If you would like more information, please check the posts i linked in the other topic.
