Hi All Beautiful Ebayers!
I recently opened a store as it was always a favorite past time with my mom and I when I was a child. I cannot seem to get subscribers so when I put things on sale, send out emails, etc. it is not really efficient..
SOS!
Thanks for all your support/help!
Best,
HH

I have been a buyer on eBay since 1998, and do searches here daily.
I have never followed a seller or a store.
I didn't even know you could 🙂

Good morning @nuwandam. If you want to build a following more quickly then social media would probably be your best bet. Advertise your eBay store through posts on instagram, twitter, facebook. Create pin boards for your listings on pinterest. Reach out to your close friends (but please don't spam them) and let them know you opened an eBay store and are trying to spread the word about it. Ask them to keep you in mind if they see an opportunity to let others know.

LOL! I follow lots of sellers and buyers, too!
It wasn't until recently though that I discovered I could keep the IDs I follow private or leave them public, for all to see.
OP, how heavy is that man's tie that you are asking over $7.00 to ship it?

That is so good to know!!
I just want to utilize the emails for marketing purposes but if I have no followers, then no one gets the email, ha!

@rainbowcolorz Honestly I am still trying to figure out shipping... Ebay recommends things and sometimes they are not the best method.. I am thinking I may go back through and change some things to free shipping.

Having an eBay store was always a favorite pastime when you were a child? Interesting, but who am I to judge.
One suggestion: put categories in your store.

@pantlandia Interesting that my favorite past time was thrifting and reselling? My mom & I would study brands and then she taught me how to learn about math when it came to comps and profit. Was a pretty neat thing to do when growing up.

That's not what you said in the first post. You said "I recently opened a store as it was always a favorite past time with my mom and I when I was a child."
If you had said the favorite past time was thrifting to resell, then it would have been more clear. And, honestly, I think it's cool that you got to do that. Don't get me wrong, what you said was different than what you meant. I honestly wish my kids (I have 4) were more interested in stuff like this. Maybe I could get them to stop playing Overwatch...

Yes, it is best for YOU to decide how you will ship YOUR items. Also, YOU decide how to price YOUR items. Disregard the messages you get about doing something a certain way. Do your own research, etc. It is YOUR store.
I pretty much always use Calculated shipping meaning the Buyer pays to ship the item.

Remember one really, really important thing...
If you bring buyers to eBay via social media, eBay considers them theirs and not yours, and they will monitor anything you post in your messages. They are cracking down on what they think might be an off site transaction when you try to work with the buyer over price and or shipping/pickup.

If I brought a buyer to eBay using social media, I would expect the sale to happen on eBay. If I wanted them to buy off eBay I would have them contact me directly, not go to eBay and contact me.

You mean no one is 'following you' or 'liking you' on the eBay social network ??
That was one of the worst moves eBay ever made trying to turn eBay into a social network then they cloned the Pinerest home page, another blunder.
eBay needs new direction at the top of the company.

Sorry for the miscommunication 🙂
Yes, things have changed in today's times when it comes to how our youth spends their time. I have never even heard of Overwatch ha!
