I everyone, I am a new seller to ebay. I listed something and sold it about 10 years ago but I didn't know what I was doing, sold the item for $400 but all the fees were over $400 (used a 3rd party listing tool) so I owed ebay $ !!! Well I am trying again and have sold my first item. I used ebay shipping labels and the first label I generated had the wrong ship from address on it so the seller would have received the package with postage due. I caught it before actually shipping the package and finally figured out where to go to change the ship from address and generated the second shipping label. In the meantime I requested the first shipping label be canceled but that was a couple of days ago and it is still showing as active. Is there anything else I am suppose to do regarding this shipping label?

Once the label is purchased from the USPS, the cancellation is controlled by the USPS and can take a couple weeks to be processed and credited to your account.
"USPS: You have 5 days to void a USPS shipping label that you printed on eBay, and it can take up to 21 days for USPS to approve or reject the refund. If it's approved, you'll receive an email that you have been refunded"

As noted in the other post, it can take 2 or 3 weeks for the label credit to show up. This is because USPS won't approve it until they're sure that you really didn't use the label.
Now that you've edited the ship-from return address, it will probably carry over for future labels, but do keep an eye on it.
USPS has installed special equipment at its sorting centers to detect underpaid (or overpaid) postage, so if a label was purchased online, the postage due can just be charged (or credited) to the sender's account, rather than inconveniencing your buyer and the USPS staff over collecting it.

I familiar with the "up to" time frame thy give,
but I usually get mine right away, within the hour.

My experience has been about ten days. The delay is to verify that it's canceled but not attempted to use later. It takes a while but it'll get refunded.
