SCAM ALERT BUYER

The buyer [Removed by Moderator] is a scammer, he purchases items and when it's delivered opens a item not received claiming that it was delivered to the wrong zip code. He has scammed many sellers and it's been confirmed that his message is always the same for all sellers. This is what he always write.

"I haven't received my goods at all! The delivery address is not even in my postal area! My postal code is 97251-9616! There is no such mailbox here, and it's completely different from the postal area of the delivery address! Please verify this. This is not my receiving postal code at all! Nor is it my address, and I haven't received the goods! I have no idea at all who took my package. "

I contacted an ebay rep and they're looking into this, so if this buyer has made a purchase do not ship the item, bock him and report it to ebay. If you're worried about negative feedback  don't. He hasn't given any negative feedback to anyone, it's clear that what he wants  are the items and a refund.  His registered address is of EWE  Group an international shipping service located at that address which is a commercial building  and his registered phone number is also fake, it the phone number of another EWE Group office located in Australia. Happy New Years to all. V

Guess you were not aware that we're not allowed to "name and shame" here.

I am sorry this happened to you.

I am not sure why they are complaining about an incorrect address. You can (should) only ship to an address listed on their ebay account. I find it hard to believe he knows the package was sent to an incorrect zip code.

It appears they opened an INR. Fine. Just follow ebay's procedures. Ebay will ask you to enter the tracking number even though it may show on your screen. Enter the number. I don't think ebay can "see" that number.

Just an FYI: You can't name and shame on these boards.

Did you add tracking number to the "item not received" case that the buyer filed? You need to do that immediately. Once you do that and you know it was shipped to the address on file you will win the case. This buyer either may not be aware of the wrong address on file or yes they are trying to pull a fast one. However just add that tracking number and you should be fine.

Sounds like 'freight forward' purchase(s).

A freight forward warehouse can have more than one zip code.

If a seller's item is sent to the address and it's gets a 'scan' as 'delivered' to the buyer's address the seller is usually covered...from the USA address(freight forward).

If item goes on to another country the buyer is usually not covered.

Just what I think happens.

Does the buyer take advantage of sellers who know nothing about freight forward...it's possible.

And an honest freight forwarder may have some dishonest customers mixed with those who just want to buy the frazzlegammer they found on eBay after years of search.

That's why Yelp and Google reviews of freight forwarders are useless.

EBay requires you to give the tracking number in the Claim.

They want to see that you are actively cooperating.

If they see delivery to the forwarder, your responsibility for delivery is over.

And consider using eBay's own freight forwarding service, eBay International Shipping, which gives sellers more protection for shipping internationally that is allowed for domestic shipping.

As James said forwarders can have their own zip code inside the regular zip for the area. Both will get the item delivered. Bad buyers can can use the outer zip code knowing the delivery scan will have the FF's zip in the tracking.

First thing you should do is check that the zip in the tracking doesn't match the one you shipped to. Then respond to the buyer and let them know the item was delivered to their forwarding company and they need to reach out to them for further info. Many will give up once they see you know it went to a FF.

If the INR comes, first make sure to report the buyer for MBG abuse noting they're filing a claim after using a forwarder. Then respond to the claim by confirming the tracking number. You will likely lose if the zip is different. If you lose, appeal to CS on Facebook or Instagram with the info above and you should get it reversed.

I woke up to the same message from him and saw from his feedback that he has done this to others. Calling EBay now.

Unfortunately that would not help in this situation, as the reshipper has a domestic address; eIS is not involved.

This does indeed look like another example of the Miami/Doral scam, where the buyer uses a reshipper address that is known to be shown as Delivered by USPS to a completely different City and/or ZIP, as the street address (in the Florida cases) resides in an overlapping area that can be addressed as either Miami or Doral. When the Delivered scan shows as going to a different City and/or ZIP, the scam buyer promptly files an Item Not Received claim and eBay enforces a refund.

This particular ZIP code is even more interesting: USPS actually has a warning about it in their database:

You entered:

97251-9616

RECOMMENDED CITY NAME

PORTLAND OR

OTHER CITY NAMES RECOGNIZED FOR ADDRESSES IN THIS ZIP CODE™

CITY NAMES TO AVOID

ADAIR VILLAGE OR

SHARED RESHIPPER OR

==============================

Ref: https://tools.usps.com/zip-code-lookup.htm?citybyzipcode

I have never seen a USPS ZIP Code lookup return a "CITY NAMES TO AVOID" warning before, but there it is. The OP didn't give us much more detail about what the buyer was using for their street address or City Name, but it sounds like that buyer knows exactly what he's doing, and that the location of the Delivered scan does not match that of the address provided with the payment.

I've been on ebay for over 25 years and I am a full time ebay seller with a 10,000 item store, I've never posted here because I don't have time to spare... It's a shame that scammers and thieves can not be named. This is not a vendetta against this person, I have contacted over 20 sellers that have been scammed by this person and is still buying and scamming.. I called and spoke to an ebay rep but they did nothing.. If any sellers want this scammers id please send me a pm I will gladly tell you. Thieves have no respect, they will keep stealing until they are stopped.
