I had two return request opened more than a month ago. One return was opened on 3/28 and the other one on 4/06. Both items has not return. So I get a message from ebay asking if such and such item have been returned? Since it's been this long, I would assumed the buyers are not returning these items anymore.
There was not much of a choice in the response to the message. Either I issue a refund or contact ebay to step in. So I clicked on escalation for ebay to step in. I gave them the reason for the escalation and etc. Within minutes I got a answer from ebay that they are asking the buyer to return the item again. Why return item again? They already request for a return and it's been almost two month now. If they were going to return the item, they would of have already in the time period. Why is ebay going to drag this out again and ask them to return the item again after almost two month? This is pissing me off. Anyone know how long this is going to drag on for now?

...oh let me be the first answer (and it could be wrong...lol...!)
...eBay will stop dragging as soon as this current virus is completely...dead...!!!
...final answer...

With the COVID-19 pandemic eBay has extended the time it allows buyers to ship return items. Read somewhere that it is like a total of 50+ days now. All you can do is wait and keep all records of the transactions. you can read all about it in the COVID-19 Update banners that eBay is putting on a lot of pages.

Next time just ignore the message and eventually the return will close on its own. That's how it has worked for me. If there is no delivery confirmation showing that the item was returned, they won't refund the buyer.

Wondering in those emails, what was the "please refund the buyer by" dates for the return opened on 3/28 and for the return opened on 4/6 also?
