Returns & free shipping?

As of right now I don't accept returns or do free shipping on any of my items & never have because I didn't want to deal with having items sent back to me. Unless, of coarse, I have made a mistake & have to do a return.

I'm thinking about changing some of my items that can be shipped out first class to free shipping & accepting returns on most items.

Just wondering what the rest of you do as far as free shipping & returns. Any advice before I change anything?

I figured maybe this will bring more sales, maybe?

Returns & free shipping?

I wish I could confirm that hopefulness - but in reality - seems I have the same number of sales whether I give free shipping or not.  Free shipping is helpful if your package is lost in the mail - the insurance can cover it all  - if it was a base and shipping cost the Post office does not cover the shipping cost.

However, most sellers are aware that shipping is NOT free and the auctions/fixed listings that separate the mailing costs out allow them to guage if the price is right - plus items that are combined and shipped together can be invoiced with a discount.  Free shipping gives no discount and sometimes Buyers buy multiples so they look for sellers that list a price and shipping extra.  You can try it and experience what works for you.

I've tried it both ways and currently have 75% of my items with shipping charges and 25% with free shipping - reason being - when they see a higher shipping charge of say $7 which would be sent in a FRBM - they seem to back off - add the $7 to the item price and change to free shipping - and they'll buy it.

You just have to experiment and see what's right for you!
