I should just let this go. However….
I sold an item (40 year old ungraded action figure in original packaging). The buyer invented a **bleep** reason to return the item that eBay inexplicably accepted without me having any say in the matter, even though I had no returns on the auction. I begrudgingly accepted the return, refunded the buyer and re-listed the item.
The second auction ends, high bidder has only a couple feedbacks. No response, deadbeat buyer. I look at the bid history and the second highest bidder is the guy who returned the item! His bid was more than he paid the first time, and the deadbeat bidder was slightly higher. Not believing in coincidence, I sent a message to the buyer asking why he would be bidding on an item he returned, and how coincidental that a deadbeat non-paying buyer happened to just beat him out.
He claimed ignorance and said he accidentally bid on my item and basically denied doing anything. It seems to me he was either being a d**k or he did bid accidentally and had a shill buyer jump in to save him. I have no recourse and never even got to plead my case.
if you’ve read this far, thank you. Any advice is appreciated.

When the first buyer wanted to return for what you perceived to be a bogus reason, you should have added him to your BBL even before you received the return. That way, he wouldn't have been able to bid on any of your listings again.
Now, block the second NPB.

Put them on your block bidders list.

Block them.
Most people would already have blocked a user who abused the return process.

Hi, so sorry you lost a sale.
On eBay, there really is no such thing as No Returns, unless it was a buyer's remorse reason. Yes, there are those who would invent a reason, in order to force a No Return seller into granting a refund. But trying to follow what happened here. Was this a Not As Described claim? (Because otherwise there would be no reason for eBay's involvement in okaying a return.) What reason did the buyer give? Pardon my questions, just want to be sure of the facts before giving advice.

Yes, not as described claim. Fabricated a story about me photoshoping my listing.

Yep, I should have done that. It’s done now, I’m just sour. Thanks for the advice.
