So overnight I got a return request. It was automatically approved by eBay and they told the buyer to send the coin set back. I tried to see how to upload a label, it won't let me. It won't even let me send the buyer a message (I did so by searching my sales history).
The reason given for the return is "just don't like it". Is that considered a remorse return and is that why I can't upload the label?
I wrote to the buyer earlier today and offered to send them a complimentary label so they won't have to pay return shipping to Canada, or alternatively a discount (it's going to cost me $20 to get it back and they've already started a return, it's giving me the option of offering a refund but I think I only have one chance, so I'm trying to negotiate that with the buyer if they want to keep the set, but for a discount).
If anyone wants to know why I send labels on remorse returns... I want to make sure I get it back. If it goes back to ChitChats it's going to be an additional $20 to have it returned to me in my city in Canada once CCE receives it. Also making buyers pay return shipping when they're not happy can lead to bad feedback. It's a pretty heavy coin set, so I'd prefer to discount it if there's something wrong with it (which they told me what the problem was), rather than have it returned.

You can attach a 1200 x 1600 pixel image of the label to that message. Or ask for their email address (it's allowed after checkout) to send the label in PDF as an email attachment.
Let the buyer know when it expires @sin-n-dex that you'll cancel it to get a refund if it's not used.

...I know one thing for sure from my selling that if buyers requested for a return base on "just didn't like it" then they have to send the item back to me from their own cost of shipping...
...the only reason that I have to give buyers free return shipping label is INAD case...

...also, if buyers leave you negative FB because of the remorse return, you can ask eBay to remove it...

years ago I ran into this problem and ebay woud ask me about sending a label and if I could or could not
the reason being s that it was too challenging for me.it was all new to me and I used to say i coud not send a lable because i just did not know hw to do it...............sounds lame but it was true
the best workaroud for technophobes like me is 30 day free returns
i am never ever asked for labels anymore.ebay just sends them to the buyer and its fine with me
there used to be a time on ebay when I was not on top of things...........that was years ago
me and ebay are sympatico now

Remorse return should be at cost of buyer

"I don't like it" is a REMORSE" reason for a return. Don't know what return policy your seller had on the item you don't like, but mine reads 30 day returns, buyer pays shipping and I have the option to refund the original shipping charge or not. Don't do "Free Shipping" - if I did would not be able deduct the ship/handling charge that was embedded into my item sell price.

He said he didn't like it as his reason, but in the comments he described what was wrong with it. IMO, I think it should have been an INAD.

Actually it isn't allowed to ask for an email address, at any time. I had an issue with a buyer's shipment and sent them their own address to confirm where I mailed it, and eBay blocked the message and threatened to restrict me for providing "my contact info", even though I was just confirming the buyer's contact info (because he said he didn't remember making the purchase).

I attempted to attach an image (it was copied into Paint from the PDF), and eBay decided to shrink my image so that the only thing you can read is my address. It's not going to be accepted by USPS. In my "sent folder", it looks perfectly fine. In addition, the customer said when they clicked on the image it brought them to eBay's main search page instead of showing the image. (I figured out you could save the image on a desktop). The customer's son is trying to help them with the technical issues of getting this label and it's not working very well.
I half a mind to find out if the customer minds a phone call. Their phone number I have, I need their email address and I'm frustrated that eBay is making it so difficult for me to provide good customer service to someone who isn't happy with their item (when I've deemed it appropriate to cover the return shipping).
