I just had a bid retracted. Didn't know that was allowed. I didn't change anything on the post. How were they able to do that?

You didn't know buyers could retract bids? Here's an eBay help page that explains it:

Yes, buyers can change their minds. There are options to choose when retracting a bid, but a buyer will always just pick any one regardless of the real reason.
