Retaining watchers after resisting item or converting 30 day to Good till cancelled

Hi All,

I just called ebay support and they suggested i post this to the forum, so that ebay development team can take a look at this feature request.

I have some listings that were mistakenly listed as 30 day instead of Good till cancelled.  So the watchers will be lost when the item is relisted when the listing ends.

1.Could ebay allow  the seller to  revise a Numbered Day listing to a Good till cancelled listing?   So that the watchers would not be lost.

2.Alternatively, could ebay retain the watchers or give the seller the option to retain the watchers when resisting an ended item?

Option 2 is not likely workable, because the watchers are tied to the ebay Item number which changes upon resisting.

Option 1 seems to be the easiest implementation for this feature request.

eBay often sends alerts to buyers letting them know an item from their watch list has been relisted.

On the watch list itself it will link to the relisted item. Any serious buyer should be able to find your new listing through their watch list without a problem.

brian@ebay  Since the "ebay development team" doesn't monitor the forums, why is the OP being directed here to post?  Once again it sounds like the CS agent was just saying anything to get the call closed instead of actually helping.

Frankly, who cares?

Watchers watch.

Buyers buy.

However, I do receive emails from eBay for several items on my Watch List which are there because I like them. Some have been there for over five years, I notice.

The emails on at least two turn up monthly, so I assume those are on GTC.

Watchers haven't bought the item so I would not worry about them being lost. Likely they could be just watching to see if you sell at your price or not. Or they are waiting for you to drastically slash the price. Either way not a big deal. It would be more interesting if sellers could send offers to watchers directly.
