Hi,

I recently had a 1880s copy of a 16th Century engraving removed.

It was Adam & Eve by Albrecht Durer, as there was nudity it was prohibited etc and sexual.

My picture is described as adult nudity, sexual  etc and must be relisted under those characteristics

This engraving of which I have sold previously, is currently listed by numerous sellers.

Why was my copy targeted? And should I relist

Thanks

None of their people seem to know their own rules.  It's a turkey shoot as to what gets removed.  Just have to sell it in another venue.   Once they remove an item they do keep a record of it so never relist it.

Since "Adam and Eve" is an extremely large adult product retailer, that probably caused your non adult print to be flagged.

Do not relist the print unless you can change the wording or describe it rather than name it.

There are 22 for sale described almost exactly the same as mine, albeit a lot younger on ebay now.

Are you saying i should "disguise" mine?

Thanks

My best advice is to not re-list.  Once something or someone is on the bots' radar, you risk sanctions or even a ban from selling if there is a repeat violation.

Yes, of course, it was a stupid take-down, since this is a famous Dürer work.  But Artificial Intelligence is often Artificial Stupid, as we all know.

If you do decide to re-list, you might consider re-naming the work, calling it the Garden of Eden or The Temptation or A Scene from Genesis, or somesuch.  Yeah, pitiful.
