I posted about this before, where USPS marked a package "delivered" to my own zip code. Posters on here suggested that the carrier was trying to do an acceptance scan and did it incorrectly - they were exactly right. I waited until the last minute to see if tracking would update, and saw through my eBay sold history that the package was now in my buyer's city.
Strangely, the USPS site doesn't show any updates like the eBay client does - there were only two updates (label made, delivered). This is why I had assumed the package had been lost, until I checked tracking in the eBay app. Also, tracking details don't show up in the resolution center case despite me having inputted them twice.
Can anyone fill me in on what happens next? Am I given another window of time before the buyer can ask eBay to step in? Buyer just sounds like they want their package and are confused about what's going on, and I don't think they're just trying to score a freebie. Just want to make sure I've covered all my bases, though.

Having been in the same situation a few times I've always found that my buyers are happy with the explanation I have provided and have waited to receive their package. I don't recall ever having a case escalated in this scenerio.
On the other hand I've seen situations where sellers have been unable or unwilling to conduct civil comunication with buyers and have had cases escalated.

go to USPS near you and have them track the item in their system..
their system shows more in detail, and you can also ask for a detail tracking report print out just in case buyer claims INR case.
