Hey, I am new to the new eBay selling platform. I’ve made some sales quickly, but I made an honest mistake. I placed a reserve price on a baseball card that I didn’t realize… 1. It was over priced. 2. I didn’t realize the enormous fee involved. I quickly deleted the listing after no more than 1 minute. Please help. The fee is pending a charge and I don’t generate enough in sales to cover this. It was an honest oversight on my part.

If you call eBay and explain there is a good chance they will credit the fee.

I agree with @stephenmorgan with one caveat.
The phone reps have a terrible reputation for getting you off the phone as soon as possible even if that mean giving you the advice you want to hear instead of the advice you need to have.

The social media Chat accounts are covered by trained eBay employees with some authority.
And you get a transcript so you can compare what you heard with what you were told.

Since you admit to making a mistake (and I do admire that) shouldn't you just take the loss and learn from your mistake?
I believe in taking responsibility for your actions.

I hope they will make an exception and reverse the charge, but even honest mistakes can have unhappy consequences. It states upfront in the policy page that the reserve price fee is charged at the time of listing. Even if the listing is removed quickly after going live, the charge is still incurred.
