Listing title is critical both for sellers to surface their listings in search results and for buyers to most effeciently find what they want. What sellers have had is the recommendations in "help" and how has it served us?
- Sellers need to guess both how eBay ranks their listings in search results based on the title and what keywords buyers use to search.
- Buyers need to guess the best keywords combination to generate the most complete yet relevant results.
- Poor quality in search results, sabotaging sales and frustrating buyers.
Instead of making everyone guess, with access to search data I wonder whether eBay should provide a standardized title format under different product category to sellers? So we know what exact information should be included and in which order, as well as what other information should be provided through dropdown menu. Standardized listing titles are common across all retailers and easy buyers to search. I don't consider the freedom and flexibility to create listing titles is desirable feature.

Standardizing titles for millions and millions of different items? Not very practical.
What would help is if they were to go back to their original search engine. The one they use now (Cassini) is garbage. You can search all you want, but it is inconsistent, to say the least. Its overall functionality is horrendous. Add to it, all of eBay's artificial un-intelligence, and it is a total mess.
Great! 45.8% down over the same time last year with 2x+ items listed. Are you impressed? I'm certainly not!
