Hi everyone. I am not new to eBay. I have been using it for a few years and have never really had a problem. I have sold multiple Apple products with no issue.
Tonight I listed an Apple MacBook and it was sold and paid for within a matter of minutes, to an ebayer with a huge amount of positive feedback. A few minutes later I receive a message from a different user, that was just created two days ago with 0 feedback, saying he just purchased the computer but needs to move out of state and requested I send the computer to a different address he gave me in the message. I immediately contact the buyer, through the listing, to ask if that was him, which of course it wasn’t. I confirmed with the actual buyer that I will ship it to his address and thanked him for confirming.
My question is how to I report the person claiming to be the buyer requesting I send the computer to a different address. I would suspect, or at least hope eBay would have some way of reporting these so innocent buyers don’t get screwed (even though it can be confirmed with a simple message to the buyer in the listing)
I have attached a picture of the message from the fake buyer.

These types of scams should not be responded to period. If it wasn't the buyer, it's a scam, this is an obvious and repeated scam, complete with the classic sick mother bit to play on your sympathies- no need to confirm this with the buyer. There are people out there that piggyback on sales to trick the seller.
I hope you are not responding to emails, you can report spoof emails. If it came into your ebay messages, then forward that message to ebay.
