Hi - I have an electronics item that I want to resell. It is sealed, unopened, perfect condition. This item has a $30 rebate that expires 9/30. In order to get the rebate, I need to send in the physical UPC & Serial Number label that is on the outside of the box. I would be able to neatly cut it off without needing to open the package.
Thoughts on listing this item as new? The next option is open box which is not the case. I would absolutely disclose in the description and show pictures. Sending in for the rebate is going to help pass savings onto the buyer!

IMO, it's still new, can be sold as such but with full disclosure of the removal of the barcode and serial number.
But as a buyer, I want to see pictures of the actual item. How do you prove to a buyer that what is in the sealed box is the correct item and if the buyer receives and isn't honest, how do you dispute a claim that you didn't send a box inside the box?
Personally, I'd sell this type of item locally and for cash. Meet at a public place to make the exchange.

I can explain it to you but I can’t understand it for you.

If you have the option, you may be better off selling it as an open box.
