Relisting Items: Losing Amount Sold & Watches

So I just had 4x listings that were set to "Good until cancelled" end last night for some random reason and when I relisted them I lost the "xx items sold". Am I wrong in thinking that having "185 sold" on the listing helps with selling more, and that now that I've lost that it could hurt future sales.  Is there anyway to recover this number on the 4 items I just relisted?

Ebay's a little flaky sometimes. I wonder if you had let them just sit, whether the listing machine would have picked them back up. Maybe you jumped too fast on that and  GTC would have kicked in and do whatever it does and it was only a delay. Now that you've lost the number sold I don't think there's a way to get that back. You could call and ask. If you can't get that fixed, can you add to your description that you have sold xxx high number? It's better than nothing...

Hi, when a Good Til Cancelled listing is ended and therefore not automatically relisted, the sales history is lost. Sometimes a GTC listing may have to be ended manually by the seller, but are you saying you have no idea how that happened? They just ended on their own? Did eBay send you a message advising you that they were ending those 4 listings?
