Someone asked me if I carry regular hats. What the heck is that? I replied asking what a regular hat was but they've stopped responding.
So now I'm just curious as to what people think a regular hat is. Like a cowboy hat that kids traditionally draw?

So the buyer finally replied and said he doesn't want a baseball hat, but rather a regular hat. That really doesn't offer me any more detail. So I asked, you mean like a fedora? He's getting frustrated with me and said he wanted a regular cap, not a baseball cap because baseball caps don't fit him well.
See if you can make it easier and less frustrating for the buyer by providing a photo yourself. Upload an image to your next message like the one on the below page and ask him if any of these styles are what he's looking for. http://www.stachastyles.com/mens-hat-styles/

Does anyone have any idea what he's referring to? If not, the next step will be for me to just ask him for a photo of what he wants. But that can also open a can of worms.
IMO, the next step is to say "Sorry, I don't have any regular hats."
There are too darn many hat types out there to play guessing games for a maybe sorta kinda possible sale.

who knows, but if you want a thought.... Aliens! they have to find the right hat to fit in...and so are not sure what a "regular" would be...

Well, I put on my thinking cap, and I think I have an idea what your buyer means by "regular" hat.
I noticed all your baseball caps appear to be the high profile style (with a high, or deep crown).
I think your buyer wants a cap with a low profile, like this:
Could this be a "regular" hat? With the low-profile crown.
This comes to mind because my co-worker always complained about getting freebie promo caps that are too deep for his head. He wondered why they didn't offer the "standard", or "regular" cap.

Wait a minute, I read upthread that you said he wasn't looking for a baseball cap? But yet he wants a "regular" cap? Aren't all caps basically considered baseball caps?
Maybe he wants a plain cap without a sports logo, AND it must be a low-profile style. ![]()

ya know in most of New England, a "regular" coffee means cream and sugar.... so a medium regular comes with cream and sugar... so a regular hat... could mean a few things..no adjustable, fitted, no logo, or even one with cream and sugar....

There are more kinds of caps than baseball hats.
This is one:

Oh yea that's right. I've done that before... provided a few photos and numbered them (to make it easier) and told them to choose a number. I hope that the cap they want is within the photos I send.

If a shower cap is your "regular hat" then you may have some problems.

Also a tinfoil hat lol.
But you might be onto something about the size of the crown (profile). Maybe I took the buyer too literal when he said "no baseball cap", when we don't really know what his definition of baseball cap really is... he may be using that term incorrectly and misleading me.
For example, maybe he thinks baseball caps are only black, and he simply just doesn't want a black cap, but rather a blue baseball cap.
I used to work in fast food and had a customer who kept saying he didn't want a burger, but rather a sandwich. After a bunch of confusion, we found out he thought any burger without tomatoes was called a sandwich, not a burger. So he basically just wanted a burger without tomatoes. Still a burger dude.

So if any of you are interested, I finally got a complete answer from the buyer. They did a bit of googling and found out they are wanting a "dad hat" with the same logo. Apparently that's what he calls a "regular hat".
That's basically a current nickname for a baseball cap (yes, apparently still a baseball cap) that has an adjustable buckle strap and an unstructured crown. At least I finally found out what the buyer meant. It was tough because he kept misleading me with incorrect descriptions (like not wanting a baseball cap).

That's my favorite kind of baseball cap - unstructured with one of those sliding straps.
After all that I hope you had the product and were able to get a sale out of it!
