Had a customer request a refund on an $2 item I mailed 6 weeks with no tracking, is there no deadline they can put in this request? The money is not the issue, since I plan to refund him, but 6 weeks!?

Can be a question if not spelled out clearly. We sell auto parts and have different warranties on different parts. Some 1 year, some 6 months, some 90 days and some 30 days.

It is my understanding that a buyer can file an INR past the expiration of the Money Back Guarantee guidelines. If the time has passed you should have the opportunity to deny the claim. That is predicated on the idea that the buyer did file INR, and is not just messaging you.

eBay allows buyers to put in requests at any time, but their protection under the buyer protection policy (which eBay calls the Money Back Guarantee) expires 30 days after the latest estimated delivery date; that could be close to 6 weeks after the transaction.

Give them the 2 dollars. IF you deny it, they can do a chargeback on their credit card and you will have to pay an additional 20 dollars. For 2 bucks, give it to them and move on.

If you want to refund them, why wait for them to make a request?

It seems to me the OP was just asking a question about the buyer having the ability to make a request after six weeks, not that they were waiting for them to make a request before refunding. They also stated it wasn't about the money and planned to refund, so it seems obvious they were not planning to deny the refund even in a hypothetical scenario.

42 dats ehh. well its fishy to say the least, but if they buy a lot it could have been overlooked; and as you have no way to say it was delivered.
Ah for the amount I would refund em. just plain easier.
Blocked bidders list to be safe of course....

After the MBG has expired, buyers and still open cases, but Ebay doesn't get involved.
It's just between the buyer and seller.

Since there was no tracking, I wouldn't question the 6 week time frame as you have no proof it was delivered sooner, if at all.
Maybe the buyer is patient or maybe they just want their $2 back.
