Checking account only now.
That's the way most online marketplaces are doing it.

Correct. There were rumors that PayPal wanted to take a few of 12.5% Add that to the at-rhat-time eBay fees, and that would have been horrible for sellers and eBay.

Since eBay was forced to sell Paypal, which was its in-house payment processor, it has moved to a new in-house processor.
Since then, seller fees on PP have risen somewhat.
When you register for Managed Payments , the new processor, you will also be required to provide some further identification. For US residents that's usually your SSN or ITIN(?). Non-US sellers register on our home sites and provide different ID. I used my passport on eBay Canada.
It's a good idea to get registered before selling. Prevents anguish.
And.
All your names must match.
If your name is John Jacob Jingleheimer Smith,
you cannot have a bank account as John Jacob Jingleheimer Smith,
a Managed Payment account as J J Jingleheimer Smith,
and an eBay account as JJJ Smith.

No, Pay Pal is no longer an option to receive payments.
To be paid, you have to provide a checking account and your SSN.

Managed Payments has been used by eBay for several years now -- eBay stopped using PayPal quite some time ago for sending payments to sellers.
Read your eBay contract.

Understand that your buyers are still using Paypal just like always. Many of them have never
heard of managed payment. Probably don't care either since they really don't see any
difference in the way ebay works for them.
Their PP payment goes to ebay. Ebay takes their cut and then pays you via direct deposit (Or whatever you want to call it)
You can pay to print shipping labels, or you can pay for your labels out of "Pending funds"
This is really no big deal. You get used to it in no time at all. You just don't have ebay sales
going into your PP account anymore.

No. Paypal is not longer the payment processor for Ebay. You need a bank account with a routing no and account number. Make sure that the info on your bank account matches your Ebay account exactly. Must be all the same info on both accounts.
Good luck.
