Received a report that when a customer adds our item to cart it's telling them we are on vacation!!!

A customer reported to us that this item - 284017651109 - they're being told that we're on vacation!

 

I checked our vacation settings and we certainly do not have it set as vacation, and we have never used the vacation feature!

 

Hoping this isn't a bug going around as this is one that will hurt sellers sales!

Is it possible that buyer is receiving this message because the have a item in their cart from another seller who is 'on vacation '  mode

I opened that item listing, added it to my cart, went to checkout, and received no such message anywhere along the way.

 

The few times I've run into a seller's vacation notification, it's been on the item listing itself, IIRC.

 

Any chance your buyer is mistaken? Or lying--in order to coax you into taking the transaction off eBay?

Thanks for confirming the issue isn't happening when adding to cart!

 

 

So I just followed up and he had provided us a screenshot, also removing anything else from his cart (which he said was another item from us anyway) to confirm. It seems to occur in the mobile client specifically:

Sorry--I used the desktop platform, and I don't use the mobile app. Maybe someone else will come along and be willing to test it for you!

 

This specific buyer is aware that s/he can purchase it anyway, I hope, but I do see how other prospective buyers may be put off by the message.

 

Good luck getting it straightened out, but it looks like it may take a little more research--like finding a couple of willing mobile app users (one on an android and one on an iPhone, ideally).

Received a report that when a customer adds our item to cart it's telling them we are on vacation!!!

Using the Android version of the eBay app, I am able to add that item to my cart and go to checkout without seeing any error message.

Never mind - I found it.  I'm not getting that error message on my Android.

According to the screen shot, the listing that was removed was not your listing so it was probably another seller that actually is on vacation.

Am I misreading the screenshot?

 

  • Buyer had two items in cart:
  1.      Engine Motor and Trans Mount....offered by zamo-zuan
  2.      Front Engine and Torque Strut...offer by a different seller
  • Buyer received "vacation" notice.
  • Buyer removed item #2, leaving zamo-zuan's item in his/her cart.
  • Buyer still received "vacation" notice, even though zamo-zuan is not on vacation--intentionally, anyway.

this just happened to me too. lady said why it says "the seller's store is closed vacation". i checked my settings. I'm certainly NOT on vacation , she even sent me a screen shot! something is glitchy!!

jesh...where the issues/glitches/screw up's end... unbelievable!
