Received $0.01 instead of a whole amount

Hello, I'm using an authorize.net as a merchant for accepting cards ( I don't use Paypal ), I sold an item and got email that item is paid, after few hours I've got an email that I've received only $0.01 instead of a whole amount, does eBay sends those small amounts so they check if the money will arrive at my credit card or what? Can someone please explain to me.

You need to understand how authorize.net works, and how to verify payment for yourself.

If you don't know how to check your account, call them.

If, and I don't know authorize.net, allows someone to pay an invoice with $.01, you can expect to see scammers giving you a go on a regular basis.

Thank you very much for helping me, I've just talked with authorize.net, they told me that payment has not yet been sent to my Merchant Service Provider (MSP) for funding and deposit.
