I, too, use the Record numbers to record my sales into my inventory. They are/were very handy to show the order and amount of my sales. Now, instead of logging in a four digit number to show an item as sold, I have to enter a nonsensical number that is three times as long and tells me nothing. Way to go eBay.

If you hover your mouse over the blue number like 01-23456-78901, the link will display near the bottom of your screen.
The "legacy" order number, 1234 in this example, is displayed.

Not as good as it was before, but when you click into the order details page of the sold item, you can see the record number somewhere in there. And the record number can still be used to search for sold items thankfully. I use this search function a lot since it's faster than typing the long order number that you mentioned. At least it's better than ebay getting rid of that sales record number altogether.
