Quit getting offers from sellers

When I am going to sell an item I will look at sellers items like I am going to list, to get an idea of selling price.

Then those sellers start sending me offers on their like items.  How do I stop getting offers from sellers, when I have same item to sell?  Thanks

I agree with slippinjimmy...use the former Terapeak, now Research, to do your price comps.  I use the free version of Worthpoint to view items that no longer have photos on Research (Terapeak).

Your message is very vague and unclear.  Look at your question and please either repost or explain. It makes no sense.

You can turn off these offers in your Account Setting, Notification Settings.

eBay has been getting much more aggressive about sending Seller offers to people who have just looked at listings instead of the previous situation where they mostly only got sent to Watchers.

FYI - Rather than looking at current listing prices you should also be using eBay Research (formerly Terapeak) where you can see prices for ACTUAL sales going back 3 years.

Hi @mmccoy5054 . The answer depends on whether you want to receive offers for items you're interested in purchasing. If the answer is no, then the simplest option is to turn off offers in your communication preferences.

https://commspreferences.ebay.com/commsprefs

Under Buying Activity, uncheck "offers to buyers" near the top and "competing offers" at the bottom, then save changes.

If you want to continue receiving offers you're interested in purchasing, but not receive offers for items you're researching to sell, then you'll have to employ a different method of price research such as:

- Research while not logged in.

- Research with a different browser that's not logged in.

- Research with a private browsing mode window that's not logged in,

- Research with a different account that has comm preferences for offers turned off.

If you're an app user, you can research on the website, ensuring you're not logged in to the website.

I finally got an offer on something I'd just been looking at. 9% off - it's not even worth bothering with.

Your suggestion was how to shut off "offers to buyers".  How can I turn off "offers from buyers"?   It used to be if I clicked on "watch" I'd get an unsolicited offer from the buyer.  Now if I just look at the item or click on "research" I get an offer from the buyer.  It's very annoying.

I unchecked "Offers to Buyers" because I'm also tired of getting all the messages for items I am not watching. I am curious as to how it will affect the items I am actually watching. Does this mean I won't get offers on them?
