As well all know, a buyer who is scammy, can get blocked from winning a case on eBay, blocked from winning a case on PayPal, then open a charge back.
I wonder when eBay launches it's own payments platform, if that will get rid of the "double scam" between using eBay AND PayPal?

Yes, unless the buyer pays with Paypal. Paypal will still be offered to buyers, at least for a time, since Adyen supports it as a payment method.
Let me amend this to yes, as far as I know. I have no idea if Adyen precludes third party chargebacks.

I don't see how it could change,
First step ebay.
Second step payment processor.
Third step CC chargeback.
( then add in your bank )
This is just the process of how the money flows.
Scammers will still be scaming

Adyen is a payment processor, NOT a digital wallet or credit card company. A buyer has no way to do a chargeback through a payment processor. If they pay through a credit card, they would only have Ebay's MBG or their CC to do a chargeback. If they pay through Paypal, they would have Ebay, then Paypal, then their CC.
A payment processor has nothing to do with the funding of the payment, they only PROCESS the payment. Money in, money out.

But how is that different than what we have now ?
A buyer can go the ebay way.
then hit the PP way
or do a CC charge back.
Or have their bank on it.
Changing the name of the processer of the funds will not change a thing about the process.

Because Paypal is a digital wallet. You store money there, you keep your bank/CC info there.
All Adyen does is open the door for the payment to flow from the payment source to the payee, with Ebay being the payee. They never actually have possession of your money.

So they could still do a charge back through the CC comp?

So my money will go to Adyen.
Then it will go to ebay.
Then it will come to me....
At what point do I get a kiss????

Yes.
Actually, I think I'm using the wrong term. Adyen is a payment gateway I think. Paypal is a digital wallet that has their own payment gateway. It all gets confusing.
In a nutshell all Adyen does is authorize the payment (accept it or deny it). That's all they do. They don't have anything to do with the seller, the buyer or the buyer's payment method.

And depending on other digital wallet services policies, could make the triple threat more prevalent.
That's what I wonder too... I have no idea what sort of MBG/BP they offer with Apple Pay, AliPay, etc.
So my money will go to Adyen.
Then it will go to ebay.

If they pay with PayPal funded with their credit card, the money goes from the credit card to PayPal, from PayPal to Adyen, from Adyen to eBay, and from eBay to you. You only get a kiss after you pay the fees, and wait at least 180 days.

idk, when you bend over?
Seriously though, if a buyer pays with their credit card, there will be no possibility of a third bite of the apple like there is now through Paypal, which is as it should be. As to other payment methods, I have no clue as I'm not familiar with them. I would assume that the vast majority of buyers, at least US buyers, pay with either a credit or debit card directly, or through Paypal using either their balance (like I do), their bank account or their linked credit or debit card. I don't see too many uses of other offbeat payment methods by US buyers. International buyers are another story. I know Adyen supports Interac for Canadians, and a host of other int'l debit card companies.

OK but the only way to shut out the payment processor.
Is if you can process the CC yourself, and most of us can't
( Astro glide works for me )

The only thing the new processor will likely fix is eBay not getting enough of your money.
