We have several points/questions for ebay vp's, executives, and whomever will listen.
1. Why when we click on an item, do we get a popup that prompts us to view details, clicking on this brings us to the item page. Our question is why the popup, why not go directly to item page, EXTRA STEPS not needed(and we are thinking, not confirmed, that this is costing us views, ex. we sell new and vintage sports jerseys, if somebody sees used, they aren't as apt to check an item page, even though we sell super clean, lightly used jerseys, that a customer might not bypass).
2. Why when listing, did ebay find it necessary to remove the ledger on top of description page(for changing color, font, bold, etc), you now have to click on a show all options button, click that and it brings you to a see more option button, which then take you to ledger/guide that finally shows up on top of the page, so you can make changes to color, caps, bold, etc. Again as in Question 1, EXTRA STEPS!
3. We see that there are going to be more changes to item descriptions when listing. The item descriptions are getting out of control, and we now see ebay wants us to update hundreds of auction listings to meet their new requirements. Our auction items are .99 to $1.99, and descriptions are in our description page, really don't need to have it on there twice is it?
4. We love ebay shipping, allows us to ship with tracking on our less
expensive items(sports cards), we wish they would include pocket schedules and non sports cards that meet shipping requirements.

Well, you won't get any replies from eBay VPs and executives here. And they probably do not know the answers anyway, because they aren't the ones who make those decisions.

I have never seen this popup. Is this on the phone app or the desktop?

I suspect it might be that eBay is discouraging their use because their research might indicate that simple unadorned listings get better results.

What new requirements are you referring to?

I agree. Once upon a time, you clicked on a listing and everything you needed to know was on the page. Now the page is more compact, hard to find information and you have to click "details" to see the full description. The entire experience is now unpleasant. Want to see seller's feedback? You click, down the page, see the last three or so then have to click on more feedback, and if you are lucky, you won't be asked to verify yourself. It has reached the point where I just avoid spending more time on the listing page of an item I am interested in.

I think what the OP is talking about is when you're in someone's store and click on a item, you now get a pop up window instead of the full page listing,

Yes, we figured we wouldn't get a response from ebay. And if your still not getting a popup, you must be on the old classic page, we changed thinking it would be better, finding out it's not and we cannot find a way to get it back, any ideas on how to get back to classic would be appreciated.

Ah, I get it. I never shop within a seller's store.
The behavior I see on my desktop is that clicking the item opens a popup. From the popup, the "More Details" opens a new browser tab so that you can see the details of the item. That way when you close that new tab, you return to the original tab which remains exactly the way it was before so you do not have to navigate back to where you were.
As a web developer I often run into the trade-off between extra clicks and trying to cram too much information into a popup. My company has UX engineers (UX = "User Experience") who dictate the interface because that is their area of expertise.

I don't like that pop up thing, but I must admit it's nice for the "impulse buyer" who just wants to buy it without reading the full description. The buyer may miss some important information in the listing thus increasing the chances for a return.
