Good morning. I've been doing more listing since my selling limits have been raised, and plan to continue listing very often. I can see that sometimes in the next few months, I will need to get a basic store
subscription which has 1000 listings a month to keep from having to pay a lot of extra listing fees above the 250 monthly free ones. Also the quarterly free shipping supplies would be nice.
My question is: Does eBay charge state sales tax when they bill you for the subscription?
Also: If you subscribe to a store, what time of the month does the store start? For instance does ebay only let you start having a store on the first of the month, or is it started when you ask for it and pay?
Thanks for any advice on this. I read these boards daily whenever possible, and have learned a lot here.

Hi @mikhirs ,
You can open an eBay Store any time of the month and billing will be pro-rated based on how many days are left in the month. Their billing cycle for Managed Payments is the 8th of each month if memory serves, my store subscription fee was paid February 3rd so this is about the time they charge Sellers.
There is no tax levied on the store subscription fee.

As noted, the store subscription starts on the day you sign up for it, and is pro-rated for the number of days left in the month.
http://pages.ebay.com/stores/subscriptionterms.html
If you sign up for a month-to-month subscription, the minimum commitment is one full month plus the remainder of the month in which you sign up. In other words, signing up today would commit you through the end of March.
Also, your first partial month immediately gets the full amount of free store insertions for that month, but you lose any free insertions that were left over from your non-store allotment of 250. So you might want to use those up before you sign up for the store.
In addition to the 1,000 free fixed price insertions, Basic stores get 250 auction-format and 10,000 additional fixed price free insertions in selected categories.
