Question relating to uploading ID documents

Does anyone know if you get a confirmation that everything's fine? After I uploaded them (got the first notice in the middle of the night), pretty much right away I got a second notice telling me to do it. When I tried the link, it said documents were being verified and once complete the payout hold notice would go away.

When I was in my account earlier this morning, there was a red banner at the top telling me to upload my documents by January 2023 (they gave me about 90 days), but the banner is gone.

If the banner is gone, does that mean it's all approved and I can move on? I saw other threads today after my initial post, and know what it's about (the US INFORM thing). I uploaded my passport instead of driver's license because eBay thought I was a USA citizen with USA documents, so I figured this was tax related, not identity related, and wanted to prove I was a Canadian citizen so I wouldn't be subject to US tax laws. (They took my Canadian tax ID as well).

I've been on here almost 25 years, so it irks me a bit having to do all this now. I would have thought when I went on managed payments and they took information from me (although I can't remember if I uploaded ID or not), I thought that was sufficient identity verification for selling on here.

Question relating to uploading ID documents

They never did send anything that confirmed they received what they needed. I sent both sides of my DL.  I got a message the next day asking for the same information.  I ignored that and have not heard anything since. That was a ~couple months ago.

Have read here that a lot of folks get repeated messages asking for the same information after sending what they asked for.

Question relating to uploading ID documents

@sin-n-dex  We were asked the same thing about 2 weeks ago. We got an email that our funds would be on hold, blah, blah, blah. We had also provided documentation for the MP not too long ago. I uploaded the requested documents. The page just said processing your docs and will contact you if we need more info. No email confirmation either. Like you, the red banner went away. It would be nice if they notified us that what we uploaded was accepted after processing.

Question relating to uploading ID documents

@sin-n-dex

We had this occur in 2021, Memorial Day weekend, Sunday night late.  We had been in MP since Oct 2020, on a voluntary basis (we did it all early).

To get mine "accepted", they had me log into my Bank account via an e-Bay link.   Once we did that , we received an email, all good - removed payment hold.  No reminders after that.

As you are in Canada - not certain.  You might also post on the Payments board to see what advice you can glean.  Good luck!

Question relating to uploading ID documents

The manager I spoke to said this was due to a directive from the IRS but he said he was not allowed to provide me with a copy, but that I should Google it !!   What about an eBay seller in France, does he have to upload his personal i.d. because the American IRS said so?  I think it is all **bleep** and that is illegal to hold our funds. Soulnds like time for a class action law suit if GreedBay cannot provide proof from the IRS.
