Question regarding email and return

Sorry if this is a double post, I got an error message trying to post it.

I was going through an older email adress and noticed the subject was an item I had sold and shipped at the beggining of Dec and delevired on the 11th of Dec. The email was dated on Dec. 25th telling me her daughter opened it and it didn't work.  There was anotother email dated today asking again.  

I am not trying to say the game works or doesn't although I tested it before it shipped, but this isn't my email address I use on eBay or PayPal.  And I haven't been contacted through an eBay message or the actual email I use, I looked up the buyer and her name is the same.  Her email isn't, and I tried looking on eBay and she has purchased one item and joined eBay maybe a day before purchase.  

I am confused how she is sending me emails, that I had no idea I had, to an address and that I don't use on eBay.  And it is the only way she has tried to contact me, my packing slip has my actual email address and how to contact me on eBay, but not the address I have gotten these emails.  Does anyone have any advice?  I haven't had this happen before and I guess I am more confused about it and wanted to see if anyone with more experience had some advice.

Well ebay sometimes does not update info, and you can have old data in your file.

I have a buddy who opened an ebay account, then he moved back home.

Then he moved, then he moved again, and he updated ebay every time.

He had to call ebay and they ask his address, and even though he had his current addy on ebay.

ebay had his address from 6 years ago.

Did you at any time use this old email addy on ebay ?

Thanks for the reply, yes I had used that email before I started selling.  I don't mind the return if in fact it doesn't work and have reached out to her, I just didn't know what to think at first.  She had sent two emails and if hadn't checked the account I wouldn't have seen it.  From everything I have read I don't know if it would matter to eBay if checked the email or not.  I recently got TRS and while it is nice, it seems more work when you see and hear how certain sales happen or end up.  Thank you again, I will just chalk it up to something else I am not going to waste the time trying to understand it.

Then that old email address has to be in ebay somewhere. Check all of the places where your address and email address are entered in your preferences.
