Question on Open Return on an Account that was removed/blocked by Fraud Department

Sold a rather pricey phone and buyer started a return under false pretenses saying "item is defective/doesnt work" which was a complete lie but whatever.... So of course I accepted the return after trying to T/S with the buyer but being ignored. I sent the buyer a return label and Buyer sent the item a week later but sent it to my Local Walmart and addressed to walmart.

I had to track it down and open a case with USPS. They confirmed that it was delivered to the walmart and was a yellow envelope but the weight doesn't match the weight of when i shipped out the item. I contacted fraud and they decided that account was suspicious and now that account is blocked/banned off ebay and I can't even message the buyer.

My question is my Return is still open and asking me to refund the Buyer. Fraud department told me not to refund and it should just deposit back to my account balance but Im worried it will auto refund to buyers bank/CC even if their account is banned. I did select the "Report a Problem" and believe it sent a message about my return issue.

What do you guys think? I was surprised eBay sided with the seller and Im trying not to be out $$$ and not get my return either. Pretty sure the return is an empty envelope. I hate scammers.

Never surprised when I see the words cell phone and scam in the same posting. I am amazed that sellers actually still list one of the scammers most targeted items. This is a pretty well known scam where the buyer alters the return label address and it ships somewhere and the tracking will show a delivery scan.

Hopefully you have documentation from the fraud department in case the automated software does refund the buyer. From you post I am gathering that your funds are on hold. You probably need to contact eBay through the facebook connection to work out the resolution there are a number of unique aspects to your case most notably that your buyer is now NARU'ed. Please return and let us know how this is finally resolved as it has some out of the norm aspects to it.
