Question about sending another invoice after refunding a person

Hi,

I have a quick question that I really just need a Yes if possible and how to do it , or a no if not possible.

I realize their are a lot of people on this board that are extremely judgmental so I will save these people the time and bash myself . How can you be on eBay selling for 20 years and not know this ? I'm not to bright is the answer . Why refund so quickly : I'm honest is the Answer. All other questions about my knowledge of selling is I'm a dolt and not to bright .

I refunded a buyer , because I thought I had sent their item to the wrong person, and did not want to hold their funds . Post office scanned the same package twice while I was their is what caused my confusion.  Turns out I did send them the correct Item, and they want me to rebill them so I can be payed.

Is their a way to rebill item . I never closed item just refunded total amount for other reason stating what had happened. i see no option to resend invoice .

Thanks in advance

You cannot send a new invoice through ebay.

You can ask them to paypal you the money provided you have a paypal account. Some buyers are nice and honest enough to send money this way.  I do not believe this is against policy.

There are smarter folks then I here....perhaps someone has a better answer for you.

Question about sending another invoice after refunding a person

There is no way to do it via eBay.

If the buyer is willing to repay you they would need to provide their email address (not the masked eBay one) and then you could send them an invoice from PayPal or similar (cashapp, venmo etc.).

The only way to do it through eBay:

- Set up a new listing for the amount in question

- Make it a Local Pick Up only

- Have the buyer buy and pay for the listing

- Mark it as Picked Up

Keep in mind there is no way you can force the buyer to repay so before doing anything contact the buyer and makes sure they are willing.

Question about sending another invoice after refunding a person

Appreciate the advice.

He wants to pay for the item he is an honest person.

Can he email me his PayPal address through eBay so I can send him a payment request through PayPal? My concern is that this will be a violation of eBay rules and I don't want any problems with Ebay

Thanks

After a transaction, you're able to exchange information for a little while.

Have a great day.

@kensgiftshopgave the correct answer.

If you have had a recent transaction with the buyer you can exchange contact information without issue.

I don't not know what eBay considers a "current transaction" but it surely must be at least 60 days.

If the sale was very recent (2 weeks?) you should be able to find the buyer telephone number in the order details (it's only there for a short period). Give them a call to exchange the info, you can just give them your email and they can initiate the payment.

Always nice to hear about a good buyer that is willing to replay, many times they just don't respond at all.

If a seller and buyer have a Pal Pay account buyer can send you the payment.

If buyer has address on sent package buyer can send a money order purchased as post office to you.

@jhtobias : This (above) is how I would handle it. Just a minor correction: it's the buyer's eBay-encrypted email address that disappears after two weeks. The buyer's phone number remains visible for as long as the sale record remains on-line (90 days).

@a_c_green

Correction noted, thanks.

I use third-party tools to manage eBay so both phone and email (of course the eBay version is useless after ?? days) are retained forever on my computer.

If the buyer pays through PayPal, you and the buyer are both violating eBay policy and avoiding fees.

The proper solution is to relist the item and have the buyer re-purchase it.
