Question about late item arrivving but already issued refund requested

Hi there,

I sold an item and shipped it right away using USPS Priority Mail and with tracking as usual and somehow this item became with no information once to a certain spot in shipping. After 10 days, I initated an search with USPS with updates, but after 14 days the buyer wanted a refund due to no item had arrived.  I issued the refund for item around $20 and then magically yesterday after nearly 2 months, the USPS set an update to me via test saying it was delivered to front porch.  I messaged the buyer to asked if she recieved it to let me know. Crickets.  My question, in this case once a refund has been issued by me, is there nothing for me to do? And if there is something to do, will Ebay step in? or nothing to do as person got a free item and is not going to respond back to me? Was hoping to have a response but it has been only one day. Thoughts, since I have not had this happen before.

Unfortunately, at this point, you will have to rely on the honesty of the buyer. And that isnt great news, I know.

From one point of view you sold an item with delivery within 10(?) days.

That's a contract with two parts.

When it did not arrive, you refunded.

Transaction is now over.

The problem here is not with the buyer, although ethically she should pay at least the selling price, but with the sub-contracted shipper.

Contact USPS and get, at least, your shipping cost refunded. You do have the law on your side there, since they did not fulfill their contract with you.
