Quantity for Variations

Hi, I'm trying to set up a listing for a singular type of item where the variation is the quantity received.

IE: 100 stamps, 500 stamps, 1000 stamps etc

When setting up the quantity of the listing, I noticed that instead of having a base amount which the system subtracts from, it's just adding them all up together? I have 8500 of this item available, with the smallest variation being 100, up to 2000. Thus I set my quantity to 85, 42, 17, 8 and 4, but that simply adds them up. Is there any way to set it up where I don't have to simply set the other ones at 1 or 2 and just keep replenishing it while subtracting from the qty100?

Years ago I could & did do it that way. Do not know if this has changed since I have done it.

How many different variations do you have of this item?

How ever many you have,  it will let you change/set the quantity for EACH VARIATION to whatever you want.

That's the problem, I don't want that. Using the above example of stamps, I have 8500

So I have 85 100 bundles, 42 200 bundles, etc. But if I sell a lot of 2000...well then obviously I won't have 85 100 bundles left, I'd only have 65 left. As far as I can tell, I can't set my inventory to adjust itself so I don't have to set my inventory to less and just manually change it myself.

The system doesn't work the way you want it to. That's the simplest answer.

You will need to do the math and decide how many you can and want to list for each lot, making sure you don't exceed 8500 in total.

I'm confused.  So ..... you're not talking about a variations listing?
