ebay reports Q4 2022 results after the bell today, with Conference Call with stock analysts at 5PM ET. I'm pretty sure the valueaddedresource blog will provide coverage from a seller viewpoint.
While these reports are aimed at investors, ebay sometimes uses them to provide a roadmap for the coming year, so they are often of interest to sellers.
And ebay just recently released its latest Recommerce Report, so expect them to talk about that at least a little. https://www.ebayinc.com/stories/news/whats-driving-recommerce-new-ebay-report-shows-sellers-buyers-f...

One interesting take away: unless I missed it, ebay did not provide "active buyer numbers" or "active seller numbers". ebay did provide active "enthusiast buyer" numbers---defined as * Enthusiast Buyers are defined as buyers with "at least 6 purchase days and $800+ annual spend"; this is a T12M metric (Trailing Twelve Months)
Has ebay decided to report this number because the overall active buyer (at least 1purchase in last 12 months) has declined even further?

You lost me at, "While these reports are aimed at investors."

My mistake. ebay does have the active buyer numbers in the charts. My apologies all around....

That's how a lot of stores/companies track things-- loyal/returning buyers are a much better metric to measure things by than people who buy one or two things a year but aren't regular shoppers.
My B&M job, for example, has a rewards program, and we focus our efforts on the customers who participate in that because the simple facts are that they come into the store more often and spend more money than other customers. As a result, our business model is focused on trying to convert people into becoming regular customers/rewards members and we expend very little effort on the occasional customers who remain occasional customers because they are not the core of our sales.

I'm reading between the lines a bit, and it will be easier to talk about this when the transcript is made available, but there wasn't much about 2023 plans....most of it was continuation of 2022....it sounds like they'll be adding at least one new focus category this year, but no hints about what category that might be. The Vault will be adding more categories and increasing eligibility. They will be expanding the ad folio (no specifics, but this might be the anticipated Store PL tool). And they'll be adding categories and opening up livestreaming to more sellers, but really no suggestion that they plan a really big expansion of livestreaming.
