Promotion Manager is Horrible!!!

Markdown manager CLEARLY helped more than new Promotion Manager

1) See picture. CLEARLY in search Markdown Manager Showed Price Marked down crossed out and in Red old price with new sale price. With Promotion Manager a BUYER will not even notice item is marked down. Grade F eBay See the 4 items I put on Sale, you would never know they are 60% off. In addition when you open auction the price still looks the same HORRIBLE I am truly disgusted with eBay

2) When Creating promotions it is taking 3 times longer. There used to be an Exclude items on Sale. This way when I set up different % I was able to quickly review inventory. Function is GONE

Grade F now that I have to spend 3 times the amount of time Grade F

3) The check boxes are so small I am making more errors missing items I wanted on sale and marking things I don't want on sale. Make CLICK BOXES BIGGER

This should be easier

I think I am annoyed about Number 1 more as BUYER WILL NOT see this.

In Addition the new Sales Event...GARBAGE, They say to use instead of Markdown Manager....Too Bad NO FUNCTION to select items.....Grade F

Hi @sqshman, it looks like you might be using the "order discount", do you have the "Sale event + markdown" option in your "Create a promotion" dropdown?  

To check, from Seller Hub -> “Marketing” tab -> “Promotions” -> “Create a promotion” (right hand side blue drop down box) -> “Sale event + markdown” (new selectable option on the bottom if you have it available).

 

The SE+M promotion will create the old Markdown Manager style of sale, with items showing strikethrough pricing in search results.

That said, I am having a pretty frustrating problem with the tool, as after the SE+M promotion goes live, I am unable to add any items to the promotion.  If you have this problem too I'd be grateful if you could indicate that in this technical issues thread: https://community.ebay.com/t5/Technical-Issues/BUG-SELLER-HUB-NEW-SALE-EVENT-MARKDOWN-Markdown-Manag...

There is NO WAY to select items individually. They removed a major piece from what they had.

They state to use that function except it does NOT work like the old where you can select individual items

I think you are looking at the OLD Sales Event. You don't yet have the new one, from what I can tell.

Yep...

Even then if he opens the rules section it should let him pick out the individual items (to a degree).

But the new layout lets you go to what MM used to look like (with access to all the items and ways to filter them out).

i put a lot of items on sale , one of those item was a mistake, I went back and removed it or I thought i did, The item got sold at a 30% discounted price, believe me that mad me very mad. I called ebay and they told me there is no way to remove an item once on sale. Has to be on one day.

another customer wanted to buy 3 item and wanted me to combine shipping, shipping everything in one box.  I called ebay to day ago and they said no problem , have my customer call ebay and they will walk the customer through it, The customer could not do it. sending the inocie was grayed outI  The reason he was told was because I had everything on sale.------promotion manager. I lost the $60.00 sale and over a hour of my time. I called ebay again and they confirmed what the buyer told me.  The only way it could have been done is for the buyer to buy everything, pay for it and for me to refund him the differnce for the shipping.

The old mark down manager was easy to use , the new promotion manager is Horrible, it is not seller freindly. I can not tell you how much I hate it. 

I have been selling on ebay about 5 years and have a store. I removed all my discount promotions for now. Not sure what I am going to doin the future.

The most frustrating part for me is you can only select 500 items to go on sale at a time. OR entire inventory, or categories.  Why would they limit it to 500 at a time? Makes no sense...

I hate the fact that unlike the old MDM you can't actually SEE anywhere what promos/sales you have currently running. Plus we've lost the store tier levels of how many items can be on sale at one time (but that was broken for months anyway).

eBay seems to be unable to comprehend that even if items are on SALE, a seller SHOULD still be able to offer a combined SHIPPING discount. But no, they just keep bleating that the items are already discounted.

You can tell whoever designed this atrocity has never been a seller here.

ebay gives you only a few minutes to item comments so I am rewriting my comment to make it clearer

Mine is currently in the "TEK" department - trying to change - add - edit - ANYTHiNG to create a 20% off sale for tomorrow - I've given up even those the rep was kind enough to call me back personally. I appreciate her efforts but with no results. So I guess I'll miss cyber monday tomorrow - bummer
